Not necessarily.
Wool is a natural fibre, and a little pilling can simply be part of how it behaves with wear and friction.
Why does it happen, and how should you care for your favourite knit?
White houses and green shutters. Hollyhocks growing along old walls. Bicycles, sandy paths, salt marshes and that unmistakable Atlantic light.
Perhaps the charm of Île de Ré is that nothing feels too carefully arranged.
A white shirt. Favourite jeans. Espadrilles. A knit in the bicycle basket for later.
A sun-warmed wall. Salt on the skin. Flowers from the market. A long evening by the sea.
Sometimes, very little is enough.
Perhaps the charm is that nothing ever seems to be trying too hard.
A beautiful knit with old jeans. Ballet flats or espadrilles that have already walked more than a few streets. A favourite dress worn simply because you feel like it.
Less about rules, more about attitude. Choosing well. Mixing something elegant with something wonderfully simple. And leaving a little room for imperfection.
Flowers from the market. Coffee on a terrace. A glass of wine in the evening sun.
Perhaps that is what true elegance is.

Perhaps it is the feeling of being between two worlds. The calm waters of the Bassin d’Arcachon on one side, the Atlantic on the other.
Pine trees, sandy paths, oyster villages, bicycles and colours softened by the sun.
A place where elegance feels effortless and sometimes, very little is enough.
Sunshine. The sea. A glass of good wine. A favourite knit. And a little more time.
Perhaps it is the light on the pale stone façades. The old doors, café terraces, market flowers, bicycles leaning against walls. Or simply the way everything seems to belong together.
